St Andrews is well known as 'The Home of Golf', for its University, as a seaside resort, as a shopping centre and as an historic town. The old part of St Andrews is centred on three main streets which converge on the Cathedral - North Street, Market Street and South Street. There are many attractions in the town and the surrounding area, some of which are outlined below.

There area wide variety of activities and attractions in and around the St. Andrews area, these include Ceilidhs and Folk Nights, Films, Theatre productions and Art Exhibitions. Art & Craft Fairs, Antique Fairs, Highland Games, the Lammas Fair, and od course the odd Golf Competition. Details of daily events are displayed in the Tourist Office in Market Street.

If shopping is on your mind then St. Andrews offer a wealth of shopping opportunities with many brand name stores located in and around around South Street, Market Street and Bell Street. OF course there are always regular Auction Sales taking  place or why not try the St Andrews City Tour (leaving from Church Street between Market Street and South Street).

 

Eating out

In St. Andrews you have a wide range of eateries and cuisines to choose from, including French, Italian, Chinese, Indian, traditional and so on.

 

The University

Aslar is situated directly opposite the University of St. Andrews main town building in the centre of North street, we are therefore ideally placed for visitors to the University either on business or pleasure.
